A new edition of Game of Code, the hackathon made in Luxembourg, will be organized remotely on October 9th, 10th and 11th with development experts coding for 36 hours to try to find the best answer to the challenges cooked by the event’s partners.
After the success of its first phygital event last week, Farvest made the decision to continue its digital journey by proposing an online edition of its coding hackathon, Game of Code, with the help of Junction - one of the World leaders in the organisation of online hackathons. Historically, Game of Code was created to challenge the great minds of developers in Luxembourg, and have them work in teams, exchange with their peers, in a fun atmosphere. This year, due to the current public health situation, the teams will work remotely on the challenges, but will still be able to develop their collaboration skills in a digital context, more relevant than ever!
In other words, Game of Code, even if in a new form, is a great way of offering developers an opportunity to test themselves, compare to their peers, train and develop their skills in an out of the ordinary experience, and strengthen their bonds as a - digital - team.
The challenges: Open Data, Digital & Open Banking
Dealing with the topic of “Open Data”, Digital Luxembourg will have the participants reflect on the challenge to “Make digital an opportunity for everyone”; in other words enabling “inclusion through digital”. The Challenge teams are expected to create new apps, services and visualizations that make use of data from the Open Data Portal to improve the social cohesion of our digital society, as for example in matters of mobility, healthcare, education or daily life habits.
“2020 - The beginning of a new decade but also a challenging year for humanity” is the introduction statement of the challenge proposed by Docler Holding, inviting participants to “Hack the Future”. “For this special Game of Code edition, we challenge you to create an app or web solution capable of addressing any of the current issues arising from the worldwide health crisis. We invite you to create a bold and unique idea that strives to save lives, communities, education, or businesses”.
Finally, LUXHUB will challenge the coders by asking them to create a new open baking app. By providing access to the testing environment of LUXHUB ONE - the company’s account aggregation and payment initiation solution - participants will attempt to ideate and implement a new integrated product based on real Open Banking use cases, such as personal financial management, treasury management optimization, and next level payment solutions.
Obviously, great prizes will be offered by the Sponsors of the event.
